Night Time Terrors
Eyes closed , blankets held tightly
A ritual I faced nightly
Fears of what sleep may bring
To childhood terrors I still cling
Well that was until at last
Truth revealed came to past
Really there was nothing to fear
No ghost or ghouls in shadows near
When sleeps holds you in it hands
Off you go to far and distant lands
Blue skies, sweet scents and flower bright
Rabbits play and robins sing as robins might
There lovers kiss and children play
In sun filled forever day
No dark shadows night
Ghostly ghouls causing fright
What was this truth that I found
Preventing fear when night came round
This land of dreams I mould and shape
I gave form to twisted face and flowing cape
If I allowed fear, then fear it be
No one else to blame, but me.
