Many people believe that these abilities are present only to a gifted few. It is my experience that we all have the ability, but it is latent in most. It remains un-nurtured and almost forgotten. Children often display a natural ability which, as the pressure of modern living increases gets pushed into the background and then as adults placed in realms of fantasy and myths. All forms of clairvoyance are produced by the same means, they result from a direct influence on the nerve centres of the brain. The difference is only due to which centre or centres are being influenced at the time. The influence appears to come from the brains own sub-conscious , the sub-conscious itself being stimulated (it is reported) by spiritual energy. The latter cannot as of yet be proved so one must rely on personal experience to form an opinion. Clairvoyance is at best a hit and miss affair due to the interpretation it must go through to reach the intended person. Human nature being what it is messages are often tainted by the clairvoyant, some are indeed fraudulent, none must ever be taken as fact. Do not let my honesty put you off, there are many good and honest mediums who suffer just as much as you and I from the dishonesty of fraudulent ones. One should tread carefully before parting with any money or taking what is said to seriously. If you are asked to many leading questions or given vague references only, the changes are you are being mislead. No good medium needs to ask questions or give vague information, you will be "told". Any medium needs to make a living but there is no need for them to make a fortune, a high charge is not a sign of a good medium but it can be a pointer to avoid one. Some of the best mediums I have come across charge nothing and have never needed to advertise. Keep an open mind, not an open wallet and remember you have the same ability as they do, it may be latent but rest assured it is there. I have lost count the number of people who have sought reassurance of a presence they already feel when all they needed to do was believe in themselves.

| Audible | The ability to hear sounds from the realms of Spirit. Any message is received in audible form only. The language may, but need not be that of the medium. Sounds are not limited to those of language. Music for instance, the sound of children playing or the sound of machinery are just some of the many possibilities. It is not easy to deny the existence of this ability when a message is given in a tongue unknown to the medium. |
| Clear Seeing | Clear seeing is the name giving to a form of mediumship which encompasses all forms within itself. It is the most accurate of all forms for obvious reasons. However it is rare to find as a natural occurring form and most such mediums achieve it through hard work and dedication. It is not an impossible task and within the reach of all. |
| Emotional | By far the most common form of mediumship and as it name suggests communication is via the emotions. Any communication is felt and intuitive. Its accuracy is very much dependant on the medium and even then it can vary greatly. Caution should be observed during the development stage, mainly because there is a possibility of these emotions being confused with our own. We needs to be able to distinguish between our own emotions and those received. As one can imagine any traumatic event carries strong emotions with it. These can if allowed effect the medium, thus we need to sense but remain detached. This information is so often over looked and where I do not wish to overly concern those wishing to become mediums I believe they should at least be aware of the possibility. |
| Materialisation | Materialisation mediumship is where a medium channelled or otherwise can bring about the materialization of objects, some in the form formed of ectoplasm others in their natural state. It is my intension to always be honest and as such, I will say I personally have never seen a genuine materialization medium and the evidence of past in the forms of photographs do seem to indicate fraud. It pains me to say this and I wait for the day I can report differently. So if you are or know of a genuine materialization medium please let me know. |
| Psychometry | Psychometry is the ability to obtain information from inanimate objects. As such it is very much a intuitive form of mediumship. It is felt within oneself with little or no help from the other senses. It works on the basis that inanimate objects can retain some of the vibrations of previous events. It is not size related and many haunted houses can be explained by this phenomena. |
| Transfiguration | Transfiguration mediumship is where a medium channelled or otherwise can bring about the transformation of themselves to that of a person from the spiritual realms. Normally aspects like the voice change also. As with materialisation It is my intension to always be honest and where I have seen more then one transfiguration medium I have yet to see a genuine one. Playing tricks with the lighting and having a person on stage to indicate when the transformation has taken place does not impress me. I ask little of them other then honesty. There are many genuine people out there that are being tarred and feathered with the same brush which upsets me greatly. So again if you are or know of a genuine transfiguration medium please let me know. |
| Visual | I have not seen this ability categorized, but have included it because in my experience, there are mediums who receive only visual images. This one is really self explanatory and needs little input from me. So if you are one of those who only receive visually, you are not alone and everything is as it should be. |
| Tools | What do I mean by tools? I had difficulty deciding on a title
for this category in the end settling for tools, simply because to
myself that's what they are. Many are thought to have some sort of
power, however I have tried most and found this not to be the case.
Their function is to focus ones attention nothing more. There will
be some who agree and others who do not. Please share your thoughts
after all this is what this site is all about. It is my experience
that people that use these tools successfully can gain the same
results without them. All it takes is the belief in ones self. Some
belong to the area of fortune telling others to promote some sort of
spiritual experience. I have set out a list below it is by no means
complete and is only meant as a guide. 1) Ouija Board 2) Crystal Ball ( but not including crystals themselves) 3) Tarot Cards 4) Black Mirror 5) The many dowsing tools 6) Stones and bones etc etc The list goes on and on. I wish only to illustrate the ability is within the person not in the tools they use. If it is their preferred method and they feel comfortable using it, then they should follow their heart. Although themselves harmless the fear of the unknown when mixed with imagination can cause problems which are then attributed to the tools themselves. Far better to understand that the ability is with yourself and under your control. The many books and films based loosely on the subject has done much to portray a false image which is hard to break away from. I have lost count of the number of times I have said there is nothing to harm you other then you own fear. To know your subject is to release that fear, for it is no longer the unknown. |
