When people mention "soul-searching" they tend
to make a big fuss of finding themselves in a bunch of different
places, like a sacred temple, a spiritual retreat, or even a
cemetery at night. When searching for the soul, they think that
the soul was dormant in those places. What they tend to find is
not there own soul, but someone else's.
When searching for a soul, why not look in the nearest, yet
farthest place. A place you can feel, but not touch. It is the
spiritual side of yourself were the soul is asleep. It has
always been there and you did not know it.
The soul is, obviously, not a physical thing. It is the third
part of your spirituality, which includes the mind and the body.
It is that third part that most people have a hard time finding.
They think it is at the end of an unknowable maze, which zigzags
you to different paths away from it.
The soul is the one part of yourself that can lay dormant all of
your life. It is the hardest to find and can be the hardest to
fathom, but can be the most important of the three parts. It's
the manifestation of the soul which makes you free, gives you
the freedom to be yourself. You hit the jackpot when you find
the soul. The maze was figured out.
To look for the soul, think to yourself, what do you need it
for? What purpose does it serve? How will it set you free?
The soul is needed to complete the three parts of spirituality,
the beginning of your freedom. The soul purposes is not really
known by anyone, but it can be your god or spirit who resides in
it. The soul is what gives you consciousness, gives you the
hindsight into what you did not know about feelings, your own or
someone else's. Or the soul can be lethargic, never to be
realized or felt. Maybe it is not there at all. It is up to you
to believe it is there. And to use it. Because when it is found,
the best part of having it, is the unique aspect of it being
your own.
Do not look for the soul anywhere else. On your journey you will
find it, most times without even knowing it. You will realize it
when the ignorance you thought you had disappears and you feel
free.
Soul-searchers everywhere have to let the soul come to them, and
not vice-versa. Let your mind, body, and, when it is found, your
soul become one and I know that freedom will not be far behind.
It is just up ahead
